Porcelain veneers
Porcelain veneers are extremely thin shells of ceramic material (porcelain) that are placed on the front of the teeth and cover it like “contact lenses”. They are a highly aesthetic option that offers an impressive improvement to our smile and allows us to correct many aesthetic problems. Basically with porcelain veneers we can modify the color, size, shape and length of the teeth. The problems we face with porcelain veneers are as follows:
• Discolored teeth due to various factors such as endodontic treatments, injuries, smoking, old fillings, taking certain medications, etc.
• Teeth with damage such as cracks, fractures, etc.
• Teeth that are misaligned, misaligned, or of a different size than others.
• Large gaps between teeth.
• Minor orthodontic problems involving crowding or crooked teeth.
If there are problems with caries, gingivitis, periodontitis, etc., they should be treated before we start the procedure. To place the veneers we remove a minimal amount of enamel to create the required space, but sometimes even this may not be necessary. Porcelain veneers are made in the laboratory individually for you according to the type of problem and the anatomy of your teeth.
Porcelain veneers are an excellent choice because:
• we remove minimal dental tissue from the surface of the tooth
• offer a completely natural effect
• they have great durability and lifespan
• they also protect the tooth from damage
• they are resistant to food coloring substances
